Our advice for good UV hiking outfit for women
Is hiking one of your favourite activities? To be comfortable, whether you're doing a 5-kilometre walk or a 3-day trek in the desert, you'll need clothing that's both suitable for hiking and capable of effectively protecting your skin from the sun's rays.
Some women simply choose to wear a long-sleeved UV T-shirt, while others prefer a UV hiking shirt. The most important thing is to choose clothes that are suitable for hiking, as these are designed to be breathable and quick-drying, giving you maximum comfort and freshness. What's more, hiking is not a risk-free activity for your clothes. For your bottoms, it's best to opt for UV hiking pants that are resistant to abrasion and snags.
Whether you're an occasional hiker or a club Nordic walker, protecting your head and face from the sun is essential. A good UV hat should be lightweight and have wide brims or a veil at the nape of the neck.
You should also remember to protect your hands, which are also highly exposed to UV rays when hiking. UV mittens or gloves are an excellent solution for dealing with the dangers of the sun and preventing the appearance of brown spots. Are you more comfortable wearing a short-sleeved UV protection T-shirt? We recommend wearing UV protective sleeves to protect your arms.

Hiking: yes, but well protected from UV rays
For men who want to walk safely in the sun, UV hiking clothing is a must. Not only will you avoid getting sunburnt, but you'll also stay cool during your hikes.
For the top, you have two choices: a Men's UV-Protective Hiking Shirt, which will generally be ultra-light and breathable thanks to a technical UV fabric and the presence of vents, or a UV sports t-shirt, lightweight and comfortable. In all cases, hiking clothing is designed to dry quickly and wick away moisture from perspiration so you can enjoy your activity with maximum comfort.
Then, a UV hiking pants proves to be essential. Abrasion-resistant and stretchy, some UV pants are also convertible, so they can be transformed into shorts in case of extreme heat.
When hiking, your head is largely exposed to the sun's rays. It is therefore essential to protect it from UV rays by wearing suitable headgear, i.e. mainly light and breathable: anti-UV hat, bob or even anti-UV cap...The possibilities are endless!
Finally, don't forget to protect your extremities from UV rays. Protect your hands with UV-protective mittens or UV-protective gloves. If you're wearing a short-sleeved t-shirt, UV-protective sleeves can protect your arms and forearms. Finally, a UV bandana will be able to protect your neck from ultraviolet rays and also keep you warm when you are walking in a shaded area in fairly low temperatures.

Frequently asked questions
Why wear UV-protective clothing for hiking?
When hiking, your exposure to the sun is often prolonged, or even more intense if you are walking at altitude where UV rays are more powerful. UV protective clothing provides constant sun protection for your skin without the need to reapply sunscreen to covered areas. They are designed in lightweight and breathable materials, while being comfortable to accompany you in your movements.
Is UV protective clothing for hiking suitable for all seasons?
Absolutely. UV clothing for hiking is designed to be lightweight and breathable. This makes it perfect for spring and summer because it effectively wicks away moisture from your sweat while also protecting you from UV rays, which can be strong. When temperatures are cooler, as is often the case in fall and winter, you can layer them to continue to protect your skin from the sun and stay warm.
When hiking, should I wear sunscreen if I wear UV protective clothing?
UV clothing certified UPF 50+, whether designed for hiking or not, offers a very high level of sun protection to your skin. You therefore do not need to apply sunscreen to the areas covered by UV clothing or accessories. However, it is important to remember to protect the uncovered areas with sunscreen (if possible SPF 50 and effective against UVB and UVA), to be applied regularly and in sufficient quantity.
