What does UPF 50+ mean?

This product is UPF 50+ certified.

UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor. It is an index measuring the ability of a fabric or material to filter out ultraviolet rays. The UPF 50+ index is the highest UV protection certification, according to European standard EN 13758-1. An UV protective garment with UPF 50+ certification blocks over 98% of UV rays, protecting your skin from possible burns and lesions.

By way of comparison, a cotton summer t-shirt often has a protection factor of around UPF 5. This means that 20% of UV rays pass through the fabric, which is a lot for someone who has to stay out of the sun or is exposed to it for long periods of time.

At KER SUN, your safety is our priority. That is why we use our own laboratory to test the UV clothing and accessories we offer on our online shop to make sure they comply with UPF 50+ certification.

We will fully refund all returned products if they meet the eligibility conditions below.

For returns from the United States, the shipping label costs $9.

Conditions of eligibility for returns

Eligibility conditions of returns for full refund:

1 - Returned items must be in new condition with labels still attached

2 - You must have received the order less than 15 days ago to request a return.

Extended return period for the holidays: you have until january 15 2025, to submit your return request.

To make your return, take your order number (in the subject line of the order confirmation e-mail), your e-mail address and your zip code and enter them on the portal. Then follow the instructions.

You can choose the USPS Ground option and enter your address to see nearby USPS locations.

If no USPS locations are displayed when creating a label, this may mean that there is no drop-off location available within a 15 to 20 km radius of the address indicated. In this case, we recommend that you use the Self Post option (free of charge). You must then print the Self Post Label and Return Form and the cost of delivery is at your charge.

To make an exchange, simply make a return and place a new order for the item you want.

Ker Sun will cover the shipping cost of the exchange. Just email us to get the discount code or to get the refund if you have already paid for it online.

Versatile and functional

This is an incredibly versatile garment. I’ve worn it as a cape, a stole, a scarf, and head covering. I wore it for a wedding when the UV rating was 9, with many hours in direct light. I did not get a tan :)

Je recommande à toutes celles et ceux qui ont été traitées par radiothérapie !

Très contente de mon achat, j’ai été traitée par radiothérapie il y a 6 mois et, quand je sors par temps ensoleillé avec des vêtements normaux, j’ai encore des sensations de brûlure au bout de quelques minutes. Par contre, quand je le porte par-dessus mes vêtements je j’ai plus ces inconvénients.
Ça devrait faire partie des solutions recommandées et remboursées aux personnes qui sont traitées par radiothérapie !
