This sun protective vest for women offers you UPF50 + protection and is very practical to take everywhere. It allows you to protect yourself from the sun quickly and gives your look a relaxed style. The fabric technology incorporates millions of tiny particles of zinc oxide - the same ingredient that's used to block UVA and UVB rays in the best sunscreens and to treat mild skin irritations and burns - into every fiber. UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor. It is an index measuring the ability of a fabric or material to filter out ultraviolet rays. The UPF 50+ index is the highest UV protection certification, according to European standard EN 13758-1. An UV protective garment with UPF 50+ certification blocks over 98% of UV rays, protecting your skin from possible burns and lesions.
By way of comparison, a cotton summer t-shirt often has a protection factor of around UPF 5. This means that 20% of UV rays pass through the fabric, which is a lot for someone who has to stay out of the sun or is exposed to it for long periods of time.
