Marie was 46 when she was diagnosed with cancer. She had to start protecting herself from the sun. Read her story and learn how she did it.

I have dark skin and until recently I tanned easily. Hiking, skiing and working outdoors for many years meant that I was tanned most of the year (and a few sunburns in my teens).

At the age of 46, a carcinoma appeared: my sun capital was depleted and I could no longer expose myself to the sun. A plastic surgeon operated on my face. I'm now looking for protective clothing to continue hiking, but with more protection, especially for my face.

It's quite easy to find sportswear in specialty stores. It's much more difficult to find "citywear" that's more suitable for the professional world, or just clothes that are fun to wear in the summer. I discovered Ker Sun through an article in Le Dauphiné Libéré. My wardrobe now consists of blouses, long-sleeved T-shirts, hats... all designed to protect me from the sun while maintaining a pleasant aesthetic.

Most people around me don't notice that I wear adapted clothing. They discover it when I systematically sit in the shade on a terrace, or they are surprised that I only wear long sleeves in the middle of summer. I then explain the situation to them and invite them to take care of themselves, not to wait until they have to. I like to talk about it around me, especially with the younger ones. I hope they'll protect themselves more from the sun so they can enjoy it for a long time!
